Jeremy grew up in Perth and began his cello journey at the age of 9. During his formative years, he performed with numerous ensembles, including the Australian Youth Orchestra, the WA Youth Orchestra, and the WA Charity Orchestra, experiences that laid the foundation for his future in music.
In 2017, Jeremy graduated from the University of Western Australia (UWA) with First Class Honours under the tutelage of Suzanne Wijsman. During his time at UWA, he earned the Wesley Music Scholarship and the Flora Bunning Prize for Chamber Music. He was also a three-time finalist in the VOSE Concerto Competition, winning the People's Choice Award in 2016 and the Vose memorial prize in 2017. He then moved to Melbourne to study at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) with Howard Penny.
While at ANAM, Jeremy performed frequently with the Academy’s orchestra and took part in side-by-side projects with professional ensembles, including the Auckland Philharmonia and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. His passion for chamber music flourished, as he advanced to the finals of ANAM’s chamber music competition with two separate ensembles in 2019.
After his time at ANAM, Jeremy became a regular performer with WASO as a casual cellist and continued studying under renowned cellists Rod McGrath and Eve Silver. In 2023, he embraced a new opportunity, moving to New Zealand to become the Associate Principal Cello with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.
In 2024, Jeremy toured extensively across New Zealand, performing sextets by Dohnányi and Penderecki with the kiwi ensemble Morton Trio supported by Chamber Music New Zealand. The tour spanned nine towns and cities, from Kerikeri to Cromwell, and will receive a national broadcast on Radio New Zealand in 2025.
