From 2017 until joining WASO in 2024 Chloe was based in Zurich, Switzerland where she performed widely as a freelance musician. Some performance highlights include engagements with Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Basel Symphonie Orchester, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Opera, and Gävle Symphony Orchestra including a 2023 UK tour.
Originally from Adelaide, Chloe attended the special interest music program at Marryatville High School where she began learning the tuba with Reg Chapman. From there, Chloe completed a Bachelor of Music at the Elder Conservatorium with David Gill, and was awarded the Helpmann Academy‘s City of Adelaide Award and Director‘s Award. Chloe later studied with Steve Rosse at the Sydney Conservatorium and the Australian National Academy of Music.
In 2017 Chloe relocated to Switzerland, where she completed a Master of Arts in Concert Performance and Specialised Orchestral Performance at the Zurich University of the Arts with Anne Jelle Visser. During her studies in Zurich, Chloe held academy positions with Berner Symphonieorchester, Sinfonie Orchester Biel Solothurn, and Philharmonia Zürich.
Chloe has performed in a number of international solo competitions across Europe and Asia. This includes the 2017 Moscow Conservatory Competition of Performers (Russia) where she was a special prize winner, the 2019 Concours Tuba Tours (France) where she was awarded third prize, and the 2020 Jeju International Brass and Percussion Competition (South Korea) where she was awarded first prize.
