Fleur completed a Bachelor of Music with Honours at The University of Western Australia in 1986, studying with John Exton whom she still regards as a mentor. During her studies, Fleur twice won The Margaret Bello Prize for Chamber Music, and The Vose Memorial Prize for Solo Performance.
She has also studied with Jan Sedifka, Geoffrey Michaels, and Carmel Kaine, who as a student of the legendary pedagogue Ivan Galamian, introduced Fleur to his revolutionary and very disciplined method of technique.
For many years, Fleur tutored with the Western Australian Youth Orchestra, and for The Australian Youth Orchestra. Fleur continues to teach privately, and greatly enjoys seeing her students achieve success with the violin, and the ongoing friendships that have been developed with students and their families long after they move on to their future paths in life.
