Kylie was born in Perth and started learning the violin at the age of 9. In 2004-2007 she moved to Melbourne to study with Alice Waten as a full scholarship student at the Australian National Academy of Music.
She then moved to Sydney where she completed a Master of Music Performance with Alice Waten at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and was awarded the Henderson Postgraduate Coursework Scholarship, the Kathleen and Allison Short Scholarship and the prestigious Margaret Henderson Scholarship for overseas travel.
In 2009 Kylie was awarded a position in the Sydney Symphony Fellowship program.
During her years as a student Kylie participated in the Accademia Chigiana Musicale Summer Music Course in Siena, Italy, studying with Boris Belkin, and also in chamber music studies with Bruno Canino at the International Musicians Seminar Prussia Cove in Cornwall, England. Kylie also spent a year in Vienna, Austria for Master of Music Studies at Konservatorium Wien.
Kylie has been the winner of the Geelong Advertiser Music Scholarship and the National Open Concerto Competition in Fremantle, receiving the Gascoigne Silver Jubilee Award. As soloist she has performed with the Geelong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Melbourne Youth Orchestra, and the Fremantle Symphony Orchestra. In 2008, she appeared as soloist with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra leading Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in Sydney, and in 2012 she appeared as soloist with the Fremantle Chamber Orchestra in the Diamond Jubilee Celebration Concert.
Kylie has worked with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of India, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
