The joy of great string quartets

Haydn’s late string quartets represent an unmistakable and dazzling peak in his career as well as a benchmark for all future quartets. The E flat Serenade K375 was the earliest of Mozart’s three great wind serenades, music that was written for light entertainment at parties or even to accompany an imperial supper. The WASO wind musicians re-create the music of this grand tradition for the latest way we all have to enjoy live performance during these COVID-19 times.
