WASO works with the School of Special Educational Needs: Medical and Mental Health (SSEN:MMH) at Perth Children’s Hospital to provide emotionally supportive experiences for patients in hospital and to promote the benefits and power of music on patient’s health and wellbeing. WASO musicians provide a positive and joyful distraction and access to The Arts Learning Area for patients in hospital. We present a broad range of performance and participatory music programs in the Auditorium and public spaces, as well as visits to individuals in classrooms and on the wards. Performances are broadcast on Starlight TV.
HOP is generously supported by the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation and presented in partnership with the School of Special Educational Needs: Medical & Mental Health (Department of Education) and Starlight Children’s Foundation.
“I liked the tune of the trumpet and the music. It made me feel ... STRONGER!”
