NextGen: Explore ATAR & More
Inspire the next generation of musicians, composers and creators with our Secondary Schools concert, conducted by Jen Winley. To help give your students a boost of confidence in their music studies and beyond, this program includes discussion on the ATAR set works, outlining key techniques used by the composers and detailed analysis of the works.

A Guide to Film Music: John Williams
Join WASO and conductor Nicholas Buc to discover the music of one of the world’s favourite film composers, John Williams. Dan Golding and Andrew Pogson from the Art of the Score podcast will guide students through the film music, focusing on how composers can bolster storytelling through their compositions.

Libby Meets the Orchestra
Perth’s leading jazz vocalist Libby Hammer and her friends at WASO are bringing an exciting school incursion your way, exploring the diverse instruments of an orchestra and the unique sounds they create.

Matinee Concerts
Matinee concerts are the ideal way to introduce your students to the thrilling world of a full symphony orchestra. Pre-concert talks give students insight into the instrumentation and inspiration behind each work.

Open Rehearsals
Join WASO as we throw open the doors, inviting students to join the Orchestra at rehearsal. An optional pre-rehearsal talk provides an overview of the works and the musicians’ experience preparing for a rehearsal and performance.
