Soundtrack to WA

WASO were thrilled to be asked by our good musical friends Glenn Sarangapany and Ian Berney (both members of iconic WA band Birds of Tokyo) to assist them in creating the soundtrack for the new Celebrate WA ad, which is now airing ahead of WA Day on 6 June. 

Glenn and Ian reached out to WASO for our help in creating the official song for WA Day in 2022. WASO Principal Trombone, Joshua Davies, created some incredible orchestrations for Glenn and Ian’s original song, before the WASO strings, brass and percussion sections were brought into the studio with 2022 Assistant Conductor Jen Winley to record their parts in a single afternoon.

The song came together in just a week, and is now playing across the state in celebration of the upcoming public holiday.
