This month, WASO’s Associate Conductor Jen Winley leads the Orchestra through a performance of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre with WASO soloist Jenna Smith performing Hummel’s popular Trumpet Concerto in the same program. In June, internationally renowned conductor Dalia Stasevska and pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk perform with WASO at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre in a concert of Nordic masterpieces including Greig’s Piano Concerto and Sibelius’ Fifth Symphony.

WASO Principal Conductor and Artistic Adviser, Asher Fisch, conducts a triple bill of classics in Albany with WASO’s Associate Concertmaster Riley Skevington stepping into the spotlight to perform Samuel Barber’s expressive Violin Concerto. The program features César Franck’s rarely performed Symphony in D minor, a remarkable work whose enthralling melodies and exhilarating finale will surprise and delight the audience.

“WASO is proud of the strong connection it has established with audiences in each of these regional centres and we continue to be thrilled at the warm responses and standing ovations we have received over the years. We can’t wait to get back on the road with these fantastically talented conductors and soloists - and of course the full force of our superb State Orchestra” – Evan Kennea, Executive Manager Artistic Planning.
