WASO welcomes: Lisa Barrett
08.10.2020
Lisa has been involved in all aspects of fundraising for over 20 years, including philanthropy, corporate sponsorship and event management.
Lisa’s career has been predominantly in the Arts, working as Sponsorship and Development Manager of Birmingham Royal Ballet in the UK for over 10 years before joining the West Australian Ballet in 2009, where she spent eight years driving fundraising and development activities to help support and grow the organisation.
In her new role at WASO, Lisa will lead the Development team, promoting and progressing a philanthropic culture within Perth and working with Western Australia’s business community to build strong relationships to support a vibrant cultural life in WA. WASO can only thrive with the enthusiasm, passion and support of our entire community.
Lisa is very much looking forward to being part of the WASO family and ensuring that all West Australians experience the power of music, “I am passionate about the Arts and I am really looking forward to the challenge, bringing my skills and experience to help support the valuable work that the West Australian Symphony Orchestra does”.
As a classically trained mezzo soprano, Lisa is no stranger to WASO having been a member of the WASO Chorus since 2009 and prior to that travelled the world with internationally renowned Orchestras and conductors. Lisa has also performed with Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli and Gurrumul.
Prior to relocating to Perth with her family in 2009, Lisa travelled to Australia in 2000 to be a part of a chorus chosen to sing at the opening of the new Olympic Stadium in Sydney.
Please join us in welcoming Lisa to WASO.
